The 12th International Conference on Particle Induced X-ray Emission and its Analytical Applications was held at the University of Surrey in from 27th June to 2nd July 2010.

This followed successful meetings in Puebla, Mexico (2007), Portoroz, Slovenia (2004), Guelph, Ontario (2001) and a regular series stretching back to the first meeting in Lund in 1976.

The conference focused on new developments in PIXE technique and the growing range of PIXE applications ranging from archaeometry to planetary exploration.
